Sandwiches are ok, but the pizza is fair at best.

very pricey for the quality of food. I had the a seafood pasta dish and it was like greasy soup with noodles and a couple shrimp. I didn't eat anything but the shrimp and told the waitress it wasn't good and too oily. she told me it was oil based sauce...really?! there were puddles of oil in the pasta....gross! my husband told manager and manager just gave my husband attitude and didn't even offer to take dish off our receipt! my husband called him a jack hole and we left. never going back there.

Good place, nice ambience, sort of a classier pizza place than Rachetti's. I think their pizza is better but La Piazza is pretty good and a better place to dine in. Solid Italian choices, good service.

Love their pizza! My parents always get this supped up veggie pizza. It's amazing and delicious. And it's thin, not too crunchy, not too dough-y. It's the perfect mix and is not greasy. Chicken parm sandwich is to die for. The staff is always super nice and attentive. The owners are always very kind to my parents.

I've been to this place numerous times, and they never disappoint. The pizza is always great, and served fast. The main dishes are HUGE, and you do get what you pay for. Service is always great, and staff always have smiles on their faces.

Love their fresh salad, hot italian bread and spaghetti with meat sauce. Wait staff always friendly. It's our favorite place in coal city!

I really wanted to like this place, so much that I've gone 3 times but never had a good experience. It's very nicely decorated. Bottom line the food is over priced and not good. I've never tried the pizza, I always go for the fancier dishes. The sauces do not taste freshly made, and leave a heavy feeling in our stomaches. I think they buy jarred sauce. For the money it cost I expect it to be made from scratch - not a jar. Once I would swear the Hollandaise was made from a powder. We won't go back.

Fabulous food. Excellent value. I can order a dinner and have leftovers for almost 2 more meals!

Decent food for the area. If you're passing through, it'll do. Doesn't meet the urge for great Italian food you'll find in Chicago, however. Passable, but short of excellent.

Best pizza EVER! My family loves their "garbage" pizza. And the price is great. Extra large pizza with everything on it $24.85 including tax. That's a great deal.

We went to this Ristorante after seeing an ad in the local paper. The food was pretty decent, not superb, not bad. I would definitely say it is overpriced! We had the garlic bread with cheese for an appetizer, which was kind of disappointing. It was just as you would get it out of the frozen section at the grocery store. We had a medium stuffed pizza for our dinner, with two toppings. Now the stuffed pizza costs $4.50 more to to get it stuffed, rather than regular thin crust. I felt that I paid way too much for what I received. It is not your average "stuffed" pizza. It is more of a really thick crust with a bit of extra cheese on it. I thought it was really lacking in taste, as far as the sauce, crust, and cheese. For garlic bread, two soft drinks, and a medium "stuffed" pizza, we paid a little over $30! I won't be back. I'll drive 30min to the closest decently priced Italian restaurant

You know what, this place is fine for the area. It's one of the only restaurants in Braidwood/Wilmington/Coal City that offers something beyond bland "family restaurant" fare. But it really isn't all that great, at least based on my four meals there. Everything I've had has been mediocre at best (even the pizza), but moreover, it is way, WAY overpriced. Last time I tried the $14 eggplant parmesan, which was three thick slices of eggplant about as big around as a can of pop, poorly breaded and covered in too much cheese. On the side: a bowl of spaghetti and thin red sauce. Oh, and an iceberg lettuce salad. My mom order some kind of shrimp dish that I suppose she enjoyed, but it was $20. $20 for fried shrimp! There are also no good vegetarian options (hence the overpriced eggplant). And one thing that ticks me off at any restaurant: they use fountain iced tea instead of fresh brewing it. Fountain tea is gross, you guys. Always. I wouldn't have any negative feelings about this place if it wasn't so expensive for what you get.

This is a great place to have a nice sit-down meal...It is also one of the only places in the area to do so. The food is very good. I really enjoy the chicken caesar salad and the ribeye steak sandwich. Overall, this is a great place.

Very good food and great ambience. A nice place for a dinner with family or friends. Fresh baked bread and buns to top everything off. I had a chicken parmesan sandwich and my son had a sausage pizza both were excellent.

Looks nice inside but when it comes to food, I was quite disapointed the first time. I gave them a few more tries and was let down each and every time. Either the food was not cooked all the way, it was over cooked or the service was extremely unfriendly. How can you possibly undercook deep fried mushrooms? Ice cold in the center. Everything there is frozen, nothing is fresh. Don't try the seafood, you'll puke. I can say one good thing about this place, the pizza is better than Geo's. Pretty darn good in fact. If I were to open a restaurant in Coal City I would NOT be serving frozen food. One good restaurant is all we need here and we're still waiting. Does one have to be Greek to know how to run a restaurant? These guys sure don't.

When I heard there was to be a new restaurant coming to Coal City I must admit I was a bit skeptical. It opened last week and this place is done right. A great place to go for a family meal or a business meeting just the same. They also have a bar with beer and mixed drinks. Very nice place to go. Maybe sooner or later they'll add a Boodler Pizzaburger to the menu to pay homage to the roots of the land!

I was very disappointed with their pizza. It was simply awful. I don't know if I will go back to try anything else after that.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
